Bruxism

Bruxism is a condition whereby you clench or grind your teeth. This can be subconscious when you are awake or even when you are sleeping. When you sleep and grind your teeth, you are more likely to suffer from snoring or sleep apnoea (pauses in breathing). Grinding your teeth is not just bad for your teeth, but can cause a wider jaw due to the masseter muscle getting larger and can also lead to headaches, jaw pain, and other problems. Symptoms of Bruxism Because you may have bruxism while you sleep and be unaware of your teeth grinding, it is important to know the signs and symptoms of bruxism before complications develop.
