Overview

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) contains a host of highly concentrated growth factors, nutrients, vitamins, electrolytes, hormones and bioactive proteins such as TGF-beta, PDGF-AB, bFGF, IGF, VEGF and EGF, globulins, albumin and fibrinogen which are used naturally by the body for healing, repair and regeneration.
The components of the extracted plasma promote growth of the hair follicles by altering the micro environment of the hair follicle and improving blood flow to the hair root, activating your body’s own stem cells to begin cell division and differentiation in to new hair follicles and switching inactive or newly implanted hair follicles to move in to the active growth phase and move out of the shedding phase. The blood is spun in a centrifuge to extract the plasma which is rich in platelets and growth factors from other components of the blood that inhibit the regeneration process. The treatment works on your body’s natural hair cycle which can vary from person to person but usually results are seen within 90 days with continuing improvement for 6 months.
